WHAT WE NEED
When sending us digital art work, there are a number things that we need from you in order for us to assist you more productively and efficiently. Below is a basic check of those items along with some things to watch out for
The Native File
- This would be the file that the project was created in such as QuarkXpress or InDesign. If you are not sure what files we support, please check our list of those programs.
Graphic Files
- Unless you KNOW your native file has embedded your graphics in the native file itself (most programs, by default LINK) the graphics and are not contained in the native file), the we will need all graphics associated with your project. This usually has an extension of .tif, .eps, .jpg
Fonts
- Just like the graphic files, fonts are not contained in the native file that you send to us and must reside ont he computer accessing the file. If we do have one or more of your fonts, the program choose a default font and not the one you intended.
Please note, certain fonts types require two parts. Your service provider/printship will need BOTH parts.
Hardcopy Proof
- Because you have designed this project, there is no way for us to know what the piece is suppose to look like. Thus it is VERY advantageous to provide a hardcopy “dummy” of what you are expecting. With this, we can often catch missing elements or foresee difficulties or errors long before it is too late or too costly to repair. Never leave anything up to chance.
OR
PDF File
- If it is ready for print, send us a PDF file. We may need to request the original files as above if adjustments need to be made for production.
