After Glow

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come.
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there 10,000 years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.

Angelitos

(for English see “Little Angels”)

Around The Bend

We never know what waits around the bend,
The Master Planner must have planned it so,
That we may freely savor each day’s blend
of happiness and sadness as we go.
For even joys full flavor would be lost
were it not given us in morsel size,
And sorrow would exact too great a cost,
Were not tomorrow’s pain screened from our eyes.
There is a comfort comes with each day’s end,
A hope that clings to things beyond our sight.
We never know what waits around the bend ---
It is enough that dawn shall follow night.

Beloved Child of God

We knew he would not want to stay
As we watched him slowly fade away,
For we did not quite understand.
With tearful eyes and broken hearts
We watched His pain and his sorrow.
GOD saw that he was tired
And with compassion in HIS eyes,
HIS arms stretched out HE whispered,
“Alex, my child, take My Hand.
Your crown of gold is waiting.

We knew it was time to say Good-bye.
You will remain forever young.

Blessed Today

How can words even begin to express how I feel today?

I looked back on all the yesterdays
I thought and laughed on all those joyful memories
You brought so much love and happiness to our lives
Such a warm and caring person,
You are a rare find…

I realized that tomorrow you would be gone from us
The plans we made, simply faded away
The void left behind won't ever melt away
Such a friendly and compassionate man
It didn't seem your time…

I thank God for Yesterday
I thank God for Tomorrow
But most important, I thank God for TODAY
For TODAY you live on through our memories
And through EACH TODAY
you will be with us ALWAYS

FOREVER LOVE!!

The Bravest Soul

I once knew the bravest soul, the bravest soul I’ll ever know.
There is nothing that could hold him down.
No solemn face or even a frown.
It makes you wonder, it makes you think.
Do you think...dear Lord...was it meant to be?
Should I worry? Should I cry?
However, dear God, can I really say “Goodbye”?
When I know one day I’ll see him again, forever smiling, the widest grin. And with a voice, 10 million beyond these.
Thank you, thank you, I’m finally free.
For you see, I’ve done my time.
I’ll see you soon, I’ll see you on the other side.
Do not weep, do not cry...hold your head up, hold it up high.
For only the weak will remain, I am the bravest soul,
I’ll see you all soon someday.

The Christian’s Good-night

Sleep on, beloved, sleep, and take thy rest;
Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour’s breast;
We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best - Good-night!

Calm is thy slumber as an infant’s sleep;
But thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep;
Thine is a perfect rest, secure and deep - Good-night!

Until the shadows from this earth are cast,
Until He gathers in His sheaves at last,
Until the twilight gloom be over-past - Good-night!

Until the Easter glory lights the skies,
Until the dead in Jesus shall arise,
And He shall come, but not in lowly guise - Good-night!

Until, made beautiful by love divine,
Thou in the likeness of thy Lord shall shine,
And He shall bring that golden crown of thine - Good-night!

Only “Good-night,” beloved, not “Farewell!”
A little while and all His saints shall dwell,
In hallowed union indivisible - Good-night!

Until we meet again before His throne,
Clothed in the spotless robe He gives His own,
Until we know even as we are known - Good-night!

The Clock of Life

The clock of life is wound but once
and no man has the power
to tell just when the hands will stop
at late or early hours.
Now is the only time you own,
Live, love, toil with a will,
Place no faith in “tomorrow”
for the clock may then be still.

Crossing The Bar

Sunset and evening star, and one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to sea.

But such a tide as moving seems asleep too full for sound and foam.
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell, and after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell, when I embark;

For tho’ from out our bourne of time and place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face, when I have crossed the bar.

Alfred Tennyson

Day’s End

Often when day is done and in my bed I lay
I ask myself a question, did I do my best today?
Did I wear a cheery smile as I went on my way -
or a frown that hurt a friend along the way?
Did I help a dear one that had gone astray -
or was I much too busy going my own selfish way?
Tomorrow I will remember to be helpful and gay -
Then I can with honesty say, I did my best today!

Death is Only a Part of Life

We enter the world from “The Great Unknown”
And God gives each spirit a form of its own
And endows this form with a heart and a soul
To spur a woman on to her ultimate goal...
For all women are born to return as they came
And birth and death are in essence the same
A woman is but born to die and arise
For beyond this world, in beauty there lies,
The purpose of death, which is but to gain
Life everlasting in God’s great domain...
and no one need make this journey alone
for God has promised to take care of His own.

Deserata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. as far as possible be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly & clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lessor persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many people strive for high ideals; Be yourself, Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it transcends time and space. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of Spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Take Care. Strive to be Happy.

“Don’t Cry for Me”

Do not cry for me for I am not gone
I’ve left my memories to carry on.
Do not cry for me for I am still here,
I’m standing beside you, have no fear.
Do not cry for me, for my work here is done,
I’ve watched you all play and laugh in the sun.
Do not cry for me, keep me lovingly in mind.
Do not cry for me, just think of me from time to time.
do not cry for me when the soft wind blows
Do not cry for me because we all know,
That life is full of changes and none of us can see,
Just what the future holds in store-that’s how it’s meant to be.
So don’t cry for me though my journey may be long.
Don’t cry for me-smile a smile and carry on.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

ESTOY LIBRE (I’m Free)

Disfrute bastante.
Buenos amigos, buenos tiempos, amor de todos.

Tal vez mi vida paso muy rapido,
pero no se preocupen por mi.
Levanten sus corazones y tengan la paz.
Dios me quiso y me dejo ir libre.

Family and Friends, Don’t Weep

Family and friends, don’t weep and please don’t mourn.
I know you will miss me now that I am gone.
The suffering and the pain, it’s over too;
And everything around me seems brand new.
Family and friends, don’t weep and please don’t worry.
I’m at my new home up here in Glory;
Up here I can walk and call Jesus’ name.
I have a new happiness and the beauty can’t be explained.
So family and friends, don’t weep and please don’t mourn.
I really am happy at my new home.

Finally Home

Think of -

Stepping on shore, and finding it Heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand, and finding it God's hand.
Of breathing a new air, and finding it celestial air.
Of feeling invigorated, and finding it immortality.
Of passing from storm to tempest to an unbroken calm.
Of waking up, and finding it Home.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to me, the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow You, You would walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed You most, You would leave." The Lord replied, "My precious child, I would never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

The Friend Who Just Stands By

When trouble comes your soul to try,
You love the friend who just stands by.
Perhaps there’s nothing he can do;
The thing is strictly up to you,
For there are troubles all your own,
And paths the soul must tread alone;
Times when love can’t smooth the road,
Nor friendship lift the heavy load.

But just to feel you have a friend,
Who will stand by until the end;
Whose sympathy through all endures,
Whose warm handclasp is always yours.
It helps somehow to pull you through,
Although there’s nothing he can do
And so with fervent heart we cry,
God bless the friend who just stands by!

God Has All The Answers

God has all the answers for you,
And not one will He withhold:
Yet through all the countless ages,
Not one half has yet been told.

If you trust in Christ as Savior,
Have been cleansed with His shed blood,
“I am with thee” is the answer;
With thee in the raging flood.

Do you doubt that He still loves you,
Through adversity and loss?
Through the fire of testing rages,
It consumes but only dross.

When your mind is all bewildered,
And you heave a heavy sigh,
Heed these words of cheer and comfort,
“I will guide thee with Mine eye.”

Has your life, my friend, been shipwrecked,
As you traveled o’er life’s sea?
If so, listen to the Savior
As He beckons, “Follow Me.”

If you think your life is perfect,
Such that God should not disdain,
There is one thing sure and certain;
That, “Ye must be born again.”

Since our God has all the answers,
And not one will He withhold,
Will you now take Christ as Savior,
And be safe within His fold?

God Hath Not Promised

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways, all our lives through,
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain, rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labour, light for the way.
Grace for the trials, Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

God Knows Best

Our Father knows what’s best for us, so why should we complain?
We always want the sunshine, but He knows there must be rain.
We love the sound of laughter and the merriment of cheer,
But our hearts would lose their tenderness if we never shed a tear.
Our Father tests us often with suffering and with sorrow.
He tests us, not to punish us, but to help us meet tomorrow.

God Saw

God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb;
He gently closed those loving eyes
And whispered “Peace Be Thine.”

The weary hours, the days of pain,
The sleepless nights have passed;
The ever patient worn-out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.

God Saw that you were weary
So He did what He knows best.
He came and stood beside you,
And whispered, “Come and rest.”

You bid no one a last farewell,
Not even a goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.

God Saw (she)

God saw she was getting tired,
and a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around her
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tear filled eyes we watched her
suffer and fade away,
although we loved her dearly,
we could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands were put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

God saw that she was getting tired, a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around her and whispered “come with me.”
With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away
Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Verse by Lillian Paleck

God Saw (You)

God saw you getting tired, a cure was not to be.
He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A million times we’ve needed you, a million times we cried.
If love could have saved you, you never would have died.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
His life, a beautiful memory, his absence a silent grief.
He sleeps in God’s beautiful garden,
In the sunshine of perfect peace!

Rest easy, Soldier, your battle is over.

God’s Garden

God looked around His garden
and He found an empty place,
He then looked down upon this earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful.
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered, “Peace be thine,”
It broke our hearts to lose you
but You didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

Gone is a Father

Gone is a father loved by all
His soul is now at rest.
He’ll sleep in peace--his work is done--
A father’s work--the best
He’ll know the joy of perfect rest
In heaven up above
Where he may dwell contentedly
protected by God’s love.
Our hearts may grieve that he must lie
Beneath the sacred sod
And yet we know he lives in peace
Within the house of God.

Grandmother

Her wisdom is an art
she shares so generously
Her words are golden threads
that bind our family.
We’re covered by a quilt of Love
It warms us like no other
God used the hands of one so dear

The Guardian Angel

In a dream, I meet Someone caring and loving. The person I see is someone whose lap I remember sitting on, And rocking me to sleep, While sharing her candy and ice cream. Today she looks different, She is white with wings. I asked her,
“Why did you have to leave?”

She responded, “God could see I was getting tired and weak. It was my time to leave. I left to a better place, Where I can now watch over and protect you.” Right then I realized she was my Nana, And now my Guardian Angel. Although I loved her dearly, I could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating And hard working hands were put to rest, proving to me, God only takes the best.

Guide

Be Thou my guide
Through life’s treacherous way.
Be Thou my rock;
On it will I stay.

Be Thou my might;
Grant me strength anew.
Be Thou my map;
Gently lead me through.

Be Thou my song,
So I will not fear.
Be Thou my stay;
Keep me safe and near.

Be Thou my grace;
Firmly clasp my hand.
Be Thou my guide
To the promised land.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Have you thought about your soul?

Have you ever stopped to wonder
What this life is all about?
Why you’re here and where you’re going
When your lease on time runs out?
Maybe you’ve been far too busy,
Trying hard to reach your goal.
Would you let me ask you kindly,
Have you thought about your soul?

You may reach the highest portals,
And your dreams may all come true;
Wealth and fame may be your portion,
And success may shine on you.
All your friends may sing your praises,
Not a care on you may roll.
What about the great tomorrow--
Have you thought about your soul?

Don’t forget your days are numbered,
Though you may be riding high;
But like all of us poor mortals,
Someday you’ll just up and die.
Your success and fame and glory,
Won’t be worth the bell they toll.
Let me ask you just one question:
Have you thought about your soul?

If you’ve never thought it over,
Spend a little time today;
There is nothing more important
That will ever come your way
Than the joy of sins forgiven,
And to know you’ve been made whole.
In the name of Christ the Saviour,
Have you thought about your soul?

Heaven’s Grocery Store

I was walking down life’s highway a long time ago,
One day I saw a sign that read “Heaven’s Grocery Store”.
As I got a little closer, the door came open wide,
And when I came to myself I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels, they were standing everywhere,
One handed me a basket and said, “My child, shop with care.”
Everything a Christian needed was in that Grocery Store,
And all you couldn’t carry, you could come back the next day for more.

First, I got some Patience; Love was in the same row,
Further down was Understanding, you need that everywhere you go,
I got a box or two of Wisdom, a bag or two of Faith,
I just couldn’t miss the Holy Ghost, for it was all over the place.

I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race,
By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered I needed some Grace.

I didn’t forget Salvation, for Salvation, that was free,
So, I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.
Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything to do my Master’s will.

As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and I just had to put that in,
For I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful, they were on the last shelf,
Song and Praises were hanging near so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the Angel, “How much do I owe?”
He just smiled and said, “Just take them everywhere you go.”
Again I smiled at him and said, “How much, now do I really owe?”
He smiled again and said, “My child, Jesus paid your bill a long time ago.”

His Love will Light the Way

His love will light the way as we travel through this life.
His love will guide our path
Through days filled with toil and strife.
As we struggle through the valleys
Where our fears shut out the light,
His love will light the way and make our pathways bright.

His love will light the way as the billows ‘round us roll;
As the storms of life are raging and we feel out of control.
When we put our faith in Him and in His strength alone,
His love will light the way and lead us safely home.

“I go to life and not to death from darkness
to life’s native sky;
I go from sickness and from pain
to health and immortality.
Let our farewell, then be tearless,
since I bid farewell to years;
Write this day of my departure
festive in your coming years.”

I Feel Battered

Lord, sometimes I feel battered from all sides. Afraid and confused, I am pulled in opposite directions. You too were fearful and torn in the Garden of Gethsemane. Grant me insight that I might choose the path of right and good. In all things, may Your will be done.

I Have A Place In Heaven

Please don’t sing sad songs for me.
Forget your grief and fears. For I am in a perfect place,
Away from pain and tears...I’m far away from hunger
And hurt and want and pride.
I have a place in heaven with the Master at my side.
My life on earth was very good, as earthly lives can go,
But paradise is so much more than anyone can know...
My heart is filled with happiness and sweet rejoicing, too.
To walk with God is perfect peace, a joy forever new.

I hear a voice you cannot hear,
Which says, “I must not stay”
I see a hand you cannot see,
Which beckons me away.

“I’ll be Seeing You”

I’m at rest, so don’t cry,
It’ll be easier as time goes by.
I’ve done my best to live a good life,
For I knew if I did, I would be with God.
As my body lies there, it’s only a shell,
God has called me home, and my job I’ve done well.

Know I’m happy and very content,
For the things I’ve done wrong, I repent.
As I see your face that makes me sad;
But I have made it, for that I’m glad!
You know and I know that it’s hard on earth,
So you shouldn’t cry at death, but at birth.
I have no worries, pain, or fears,
Because I’m with God, so dry your tears.
I love you all and this I want you to do,
Put God first in your life and I’ll be seeing you!

I’m Free

(Spanish version of I’m Free)

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys -
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief -
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee -
God wanted me now; He set me free.

“If You Could See Me Now”

Our prayers have all been answered
I finally arrived
The healing that had been delayed
Has now been realized
No one’s in a hurry
There’s no schedule to keep
We’re all enjoying Jesus
Just sitting at His feet

If you could see me now
I’m walking streets of gold
If you could see me now
I’m standing tall and whole
If you could see me now
You’d know I’d seen His face
If you could see me now
You’d know the pain is erased

You wouldn’t want me
To ever leave this place
If you could see me now

My light and temporary trials
have worked out for my good
To know it brought Him glory
When I misunderstood
Though we’ve had our sorrows
They can never compare
What Jesus has in store for us
No language can we share

I Needed the Quiet

I needed the quiet so He drew me aside,
Into the shadows where we could confide,
Away from the bustle where all day long
I hurried and worried when active and strong.
I needed the quiet though at first I rebelled,
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld,
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things,
Though weakened in body, my spirit took wings,
To heights never dreamed of when active and gay
He loved me so greatly. He drew me away.
I needed the quiet, no earthly bondage for my bed,
But a beautiful valley of blessing instead—
A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide,
I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

If Tears...

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to heaven,
And bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.

Our hearts still ache in sadness,
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one can ever know.

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more,
To remember all the happy times;
Life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be forgotten,
We pledge to you today:
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay.

Jesus Will Be With You

I cannot be with you today
To hold you in my arms.
I cannot look into your eyes
And shield you from life’s harms.
Across the miles you are from me,
And I cannot span that distance or time.
But I asked a Friend to be with you,
For He’s a friend of mine.
His name is Jesus, and I know Him well.
I’ve placed you in His care
So He will comfort you for me,
Since I cannot be with you there.

Life’s Lessons

I learn, as the years roll onward
And leave the past behind,
That much I had counted sorrow
But proves that God is kind;
That many a flower I had longed for
had hidden a thorn of pain,
And many a rugged bypath
Led to fields of ripened grain.

The clouds that cover the sunshine
They cannot banish the sun;
And the earth shines out the brighter
When the weary rain is done.
We must stand in the deepest shadow
To see the clearest light;
And often through wrong’s own darkness
Comes the very strength of light.

The sweetest rest is at even,
After a wearisome day,
When the heavy burden of labor
Had borne from our hearts away;
And those who have never known sorrow
Can not know the infinite peace
That falls on the troubled spirit
When it sees at least release.

We must live through the dreary winter
If we would value the spring;
And the woods must be cold and silent
Before the robins sing.
The flowers must be buried in darkness
Before they can bud and bloom.
And sweetest, warmest sunshine
Comes after the storm and gloom.

Life’s Ripples

A tiny pebble idly tossed
Into the placid stream,
With gentle splash it sinks from sight
And not again is seen.
But outward from that central spot
the circling ripples tend,
Who knows on what far distant shore
the spreading impulse ends?

And so it is with life itself;
A word we say - a deed we do
May take a moment of our time
And then be lost to view,
But ever onward it will go
And never lost shall be,
Until its widening mission done,
It joins infinity.

Little Angels

(see Angelitos for Spanish)

When God calls little children to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold,
So He picks a rosebud before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult, still somehow we must try.
The saddest word mankind knows will always be “Good-bye.”
So when a little child departs, we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children, “Angels are hard to find!”

A Little While

We met when we were only teens,
When girls wore dresses, not old blue jeans,
Your smile was sweet, it stole the scenes,
I thought I’d stick around...for a little while.

We married younger than we should,
You helped me grow all that you could,
To live a life that’s right and good,
You must have overlooked my faults...for a little while.

You bore my children, wiped their noses,
Took their pictures, helped with poses,
Saved empty vases, hoped roses,
For better times you always waited...for a little while.

The children grew, the grandkids came,
“Grandma, come and play this game.”
You tried but didn’t feel the same,
Maybe you’ll be able...in a little while.

You’ve seen the doctors, watched their stances,
Watched their eyes, their sideward glances,
You wanted hope, they talked of chances,
Maybe you’ll feel better...in a little while.

The days have passed, you’ve grown so weary,
The path ahead seems only dreary,
The hope you held you don’t see clearly,
You’ll try to hold on...just for a little while.

When you see the end is nearing,
When heaven’s road ahead is clearing,
These are the words I hope you’re hearing,
“I’ll join you there...in a little while.”

The Loaned Child

"I'll lend for a little time a child of Mine." He said,
"To love while the child lives, and to mourn when the child's dead.
It may be six or seven years or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call the child back, take care of the child for Me?
Children bring charms to gladden you, and should the child's stay be brief,
You'll have the child's lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I can't promise the child will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give the child all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take the child back again?
I fancied that I heard them say, Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter the child with tenderness, we'll love the child while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay,
But should the angels call for the child much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

El Padre Nuestro

The Master’s Bouquet

The Master walked in His garden plucking flowers along the way,
He plucked one of my loved ones to add to His bouquet.
My heart at first was broken at the loss of one so dear,
But the tears I shed just washed my eyes,
so I saw His way more clear.
My Lord has a need for just this one,
for the pattern He has in mind,
But it’s hard for the rest of us to see why we must be left behind.
Perhaps we are not ready to go just yet;
we may need to ripen more,
To reach the full blown fragrance my Lord is waiting for.
So I’m going to try my very best to be loving and kind each day,
So at last I’ll be counted worthy
to be part of my Master’s Bouquet.

The Master’s Way

Not ours to know the reason
Why unanswered is our prayer;
But ours to wait for God’s own time
To lift the cross we bear.

Not ours to know the reason
Why from us loved ones we must part,
But ours to live in faith and hope
Though bleeding through the heart.

Not ours to know the reason
Why this anguish strife and pain,
But ours to know a crown of thorns
Sweet graces for us gain.

A cross, a bleeding heart and crown
What greater gifts are given?
Be still, my heart, and murmur not:
These are the keys to heaven

May I Go Now?

May I go now? Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to painfilled days and nights?
I’ve lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be
so I can take that step with Christ and my script will be free!
I didn’t want to go at first, I fought with all my might,
but the Lord has drawn me to His warm and loving light.
I want to go, I really do, it’s difficult to stay;
but I will try as best I can to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears,
I know you’re sad and afraid, because I see your tears.
I’ll not be far, I promise that and hope you will always know
that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me. You know that I love you, too.
That’s why it’s hard to say goodbye and end this life on earth with you.
So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me you will let me go today.

The Miracle Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come before You, just as I am. I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In Your name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give You my entire self, Lord Jesus, now and forever. I invite You into my life, Jesus, I accept You as my Lord, God and Savior. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul and spirit.
Come Lord Jesus, cover me with Your precious blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I love You Lord Jesus, I praise You Jesus. I thank You Jesus. I shall follow You every day of my life. Amen.
Mary, my mother, Queen of Peace, all the angels and saints please help me. Amen.

“Miss Me, But Let Me Go”

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long
and not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

Mother...A Family is Love

Wherever we go, and whatever we do, let us live with this
remembrance in our hearts...that we are family.
What we give to one another comes full circle.
May we always be the best of friends;
May we always be one another’s
rainbow on a cloudy day;
As we have been yesterday and today to each other,
may we be so blessed in all our tomorrows...
over and over again.
For we are family, and that means love
that has no end.

My Mother (1)

In my mother’s hands I see all the hard work that she has done for me.
I see the caring they’ve provided for my benefits down through the years.
I see my mother’s eyes; I sense a gentle understanding of my ways
And also a longing to sometimes help me see some better ways of living.
I see my mother’s arms. I’ve found comfort for the world so many times
From fears, hurts, and everything that troubles me.
I know that if anything happens to bother me now
Those arms are always open just for me.
I see my mother’s face.
I see the hopes for me that are plainly written there.
Often a sense of pride is revealed too.
But in my mother’s heart is the greatest gift of all,
For that is where so much is kept for me.
I love you

My Mother (2)

A mother tries to provide her daughter with insight into
the important things in life in order to make her life
as happy and fulfilling as possible

A mother tries to teach her daughter...
to be good, always helpful to other people
to be fair, always treating others equally
to have a positive attitude at all times
to always make things right when they are wrong
to know herself very well
to know what her talents are
to set goals for herself
to not be afraid of working too hard to reach her goals

A mother tries to teach her daughter...
to have many interests to pursue
to laugh and have fun every day
to appreciate the beauty of nature
to enter into friendships with good people
to honor their friendships and always be a true friend
to appreciate the importance of the family
and to particularly respect and love our elder members
to use her intelligence at all times
to listen to her emotions
to adhere to her values

A mother tries to teach her daughter...
to not be afraid to stick to her beliefs
to not follow the majority when the majority is wrong
to carefully plan a life for herself
to vigorously follow her chosen path
to enter into a relationship with someone worthy of herself
to love this person unconditionally with her body and mind
to share all that she has learned in life with this person

If I have provided you with an insight into most of these things
then I have succeeded as a mother in what I hoped to accomplish in raising you
If many of these things slipped by while we were all so busy
I have a feeling that you know them anyway
One thing I am sure of, though
I have taught you to be proud of the fact that you are a woman equal to all men and I have loved you every second of your life
I have supported you at all times as a mother, as a person, and as a friend
I will always continue to cherish and love everything about you my beautiful daughter.

"Never Alone”

I’ve seen the lightning flashing and heard the thunder roll,
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing, which tried to conquer my soul;
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior, He bid me still fight on ---
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone.
He died on Calv’ry’s mountain, for me they pierced His side,
For me He opened that fountain, the crimson, cleansing tide;
For me He’s waiting in glory upon His heav’nly throne ---
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone.

Now

Don’t wait until tomorrow;
Do all you can today,
For yesterday has vanished
And tomorrow is far away.
Just look to the Lord for guidance,
For peace, for love – then pray
Because now is the accepted time.
Do all you can today.
Just put aside all worry
And help someone in need –
The poor or those disabled –
Just perform some special deed.
Forgive, as you’ve been forgiven,
Help those who went astray
Because now is the accepted time;
Do all you can today.

"On the Other Side of Death"

Death is a gateway
We all must pass through
To reach that Fair Land
Where the soul's born anew,
For man's born to die
And his sojourn on earth
Is a short span of years
Beginning with birth . . .
And like pilgrims we wander
Until death takes our hand
And we start on our journey
To God's Promised Land,
A place where we'll find
No suffering nor tears,
Where time is not counted
By days, months or years . . .
And in this Fair City
That God has prepared
Are unending joys
To be happily shared
With all of our loved ones
Who patiently wait
On Death's Other Side
To open "The Gate"!

Oración de San Francisco de Asus

Señor, hazme un instrumento de Tu paz.
Donde hay odio, ponga yo amor.
Donde hay ofensa, perdon.
Donde hay duda, fe.
Donde hay desaliento, esperanza.
Donde hay sombras, luz.
Donde hay tristeza, alegria.

¡Oh, Divino Maestro! concedeme
Que no busque ser consolado, sino consolar.
Que no busque ser comprendido, sino comprender.
Que no busque ser amado, sino amar.

Porque dando es como recibimos;
perdonando es como Tú nos perdonas;

Peace

My soul, there is a country
Far beyond the stars,
Where stands a winged sentry
All skilful in the wars:
There above noise and danger,
Sweet Peace sits crown’d with smiles,
And One born in a manger
Commands the beauteous files.
He is thy gracious Friend,
And - O my soul, awake!-
Did in pure love descend
To die here for thy sake.
If thou canst get but thither,
There grows the flower of Peace,
The Rose that cannot wither,
Thy fortress, and thy ease.
Leave then thy foolish ranges;
For none can thee secure
But One who never changes -
Thy God, thy life, thy cure.

- Henry Vaughan

Poem of Comfort

To Those I Love & Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go -
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.
Be thankful for our beautiful years.
I gave to you my love - and you can only guess
how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown
but now it’s time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It’s only for a time we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away, for life goes on,
so if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near, and if you’ll listen with your heart, you’ll hear all my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone
I’ll greet you with a smile, and say, “Welcome home!”

Poema De Comodidad

Si me necesitan, llamenme y llegaré.

Prayer For Those Who Have Died

Lord God, to Your mercy we owe our forgiveness and salvation. Grant that your servant (name) who has departed from this life, may be admitted into everlasting happiness through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and all your saints.

Prodigal

This earth has been my home so long, and I have loved it well,
but one day I must leave it, just when I cannot tell.
The hour and minute I am scheduled to depart,
Was long ago decided, and is written on God’s heart.
This is a great old world, and how I wish that I could stay,
but the years keep going faster, and the hours slip away.
But as I near the turning of the road, I pause to view
the yesterdays I’ve left behind me, as I journey through,
one year into another, ‘til they form a silver chain,
there are things I would do over, some I would not do again.
Though “old sins cast long shadows,” however long confessed,
with all my heart I do believe I’ll find a place to rest
Within the arms of Jesus, where no heartache and no pain,
will ever be allowed to touch this prodigal again.
And throughout all eternity, my greatest joy will be,
That the Shepherd left His ninety-nine,...to come in search of me!

Reflections

In the natural sense, we picture death as coming to destroy.
In the spiritual sense, let us picture Christ as coming to claim His own.
We think of death as an ending. Rather think of death as life for those who die in the Lord - life as a beginning and beginning more abundantly.

We think of losing; let us think of gaining.
We think of parting; let us think of gaining.
We think of parting; let us think of gaining.
We think of parting; let us think of meeting the Lord.
We think of going away;
let us think of arriving in His arms.
And as the voice of death whispers
“You must go from the earth:”,
let us hear the voice of Christ say,
“You are coming home to me.”

Restore

All my life long I had panted
For a drink from some cool spring
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Feeding on the husks around me
Til my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Well of water, ever springing
Bread of life, so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

Hallelujah! I have found Him-
Whom my soul so longed has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings:
Through His blood I now am saved.
-Clara T. Williams

Resurrection Prayer

Most merciful Father, we commend our departed into your hands. We are filled with the same hope that our departed will rise again on the Last Day with all who have died in Christ. We thank you for all the good things you have given during our departed’s earthly life.

O Father, in your great mercy, accept our prayer that the Gates of Paradise may be spread for your servant. In our turn, may we too be comforted by the words of faith until we greet Christ in glory and are united with you and our departed.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
in this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
You shall rest in God’s own land.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus’ love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus’ arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,
Pay to trust our Father’s Will.

There is work still waiting for you.
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in God’s own land

When that work is completed,
He will gently call you home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Saint Francis of Assisi - PRAYER

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred... let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace.
Taking as He did, this world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

Should You Go First

Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone,
I’ll live in memory’s garden dear,
with happy days we’ve known.
In spring I’ll wait for roses red, when fades the lilac blue,
In early fall when brown leaves call
I’ll catch a glimpse of you.

Should you go first and I remain for battles to be fought,
Each thing you’ve touched along the way
will be a hallowed spot.
I’ll hear your voice, I’ll see your smile,
though blindly I may grope,
The memory of your helping hand
will buoy me on with hope.

Should you go first and I remain
to finish with the scroll,
No length’ning shadows shall creep in
to make this life seem droll.
We’ve known so much of happiness,
we’ve had our cup of joy,
And memory is one gift of God
that death cannot destroy.

Somewhere There Is No Parting

Somewhere there is no sunset,
Somewhere it’s always dawn;
Somewhere no clouds obscure the blue,
Somewhere each shadow’s gone!
Somewhere there is no parting,
Or sorrow, tears, or pain,
And there your loved one waits the day
When you will meet again!

A Song of Praise

I sing a song of praise to You, merciful and everlasting God, Who has given me life and the promise of eternal reward. I worship You on this day of rest, and pray You will watch over my friends and family in the days ahead.

Sorry I Had to Leave

“Sorry I had to leave in a sudden kind of way,
But I had a friend say he needed me today.
I didn’t have time to call or even say good-bye,
For this friend of mine was in a hurry,
So I did not even try.
I knew you would understand
‘Cause that’s the way you are.
Don’t worry about the distance
‘Cause it’s really not that far.
Don’t wait up, and please don’t cry,
Besides, did you hear me say “Good-bye?”

Soy Libre! (1)

No pude quedarme otro dia mas a reir, amar, trabajar o a jugar. Dios me necesitaba ahora. Dios me ha liberado.

Soy Libre! (2)

• No sufran por mi. Ahora soy libre.

A Stepping Stone to Life

When death brings weeping
And the heart is filled with sorrow,
It beckons us to seek God
As we ask about tomorrow...
And in these hours of “heart-hurt”
We draw closer to believing
That even death in God’s Hands
Is not a cause for grieving
But a time for joy in knowing
Death is just a steppingstone
To a Life that’s Everlasting
Such as we have never known

Success

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to lease the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thanks Be To God

Thanks Be To God for the fruits of His creation;
Thanks be to God for the gifts to every nation;
Thanks be to God for the ploughing, sowing, reaping,
Silent growth while men are sleeping,
Future needs in earth safe keeping;
Thanks be to God in the just reward of labor.
God’s will is done in the help we give our neighbor;
God’s will is done in our world-wide task of caring
For the hungry and despairing,
In the harvests men are sharing;
God’s will is done.
For the harvests of his spirit, thanks be to God;
For the good all men inherit, thanks be to God;
For the wonders that astound us,
For the truths that still confound us,
Most of all, that love has found us
Thanks be to God.

There’s A Reason

For every burden that we bear,
For every sorrow, every care,
There’s a reason.

For every grief that bows the head,
For every tear-drop that is shed,
There’s a reason.

For every hurt, for every plight,
For every lonely pain-racked night,
There’s a reason.

But if we trust God as we should,
All must work out for our good,
He knows the reason.

Thou Art With Me

Thou art with me Blessed Saviour
Every moment, every hour;
I adore Thee for Thy mercy
And Thy wondrous keeping power.
O’er my life, Thy love presiding,
Step by step, my way is guiding;
In the Rock my soul is hiding -
Rock of ages, cleft for me;
I am resting on Thy promise,
I am trusting only Thee
And rejoicing in the fullness
Of Thy grace that makes me free.
Thou hast led me, 0h my Saviour,
And Thy hand will lead me still
Through the valley and the shadow
I shall walk and fear no ill.

A Time For All Things

This jar contains ten walnuts and two cups of rice. The walnuts represent the things that God would have us do, and the rice represents the fun things that we would want to do.

If you pour the rice into the jar first, the walnuts will never fit. If you put the walnuts in the jar first, the rice poured over and around the walnuts fits perfectly.

The lesson, of course, is if we put the time with God and for God before the time for other things we want to do, we will have plenty of time for both. If, however, we put the things that are fun and that we want to accomplish first, we will never fit in time for God.

Let this jar be a constant reminder in your walk with God.

To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

If you could see where I have gone, the beauty of this place, and how it feels to know you’re home to see the Savior’s face. To wake in peace and know no fear, just joy beyond compare; while still on earth you miss me yet, you wouldn’t want me there. If you could see where I have gone, had made the trip with me. You’d know I didn’t go alone, the Savior came with me. When I awoke, He was by my side and said as He touched my hand; hurry, you’re going home to a grand and glorious land. If you could see where I have gone, and see what I’ve been shown, you’d never know another fear or ever feel alone. You’d marvel at the care of God; His hand on every life. And realize He really cares and bears with us each strife. And that He weeps when one is lost, His heart is filled with pain. But Oh! The Joy! When one comes home, a child at home again. If you could see where I have gone, could stay awhile with me; could share the things that God has made, to grace eternity. But no, you couldn’t ever leave for once Heaven’s joy you’d know, You couldn’t walk earth’s paths, once Heaven was your home. If you could see where I have gone and though I’m parted from you, know that I am just away and now that I am with Him, Secure in every way. I’m waiting aat Heaven’s door to greet you some sweet day!

“To Those I Love”

by Isla Paschal Richardson

If I should ever leave you whom I love
To go along the Silent Way, grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk
Of me as if I were beside you there.
(I’d come—I’d come, could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers?)
And when you hear a song or see a bird
I loved, please do not let the thought of me
Be sad...for I am loving you just as
I always have...You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still
To do—so many things to say to you...
Remember that I did not fear...It was
Just leaving you that was so hard to face...
We cannot see Beyond...But this I know:
I loved you so—’twas heaven here with you!

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near,
and if you’ll listen with your heart, you’ll hear
all my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone
I’ll greet you with a smile, and say, “Welcome home!”

A Tribute

"A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in the home,
Which never can be filled.
She will not be forgotten
Though on earth she is no more,
But in memory she is with us,
As she always was before."

Tus Zapatos

Todos llevaremos una cruz por el transcurso de nuestras vidas;
Yo se...he estado alli.

Quitatela...Y damela a mi.

Abre tu corazon, mi amigo y compartelo conmigo.
Siempre.

We Little Knew

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did no t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothering seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Weep Not

Weep not for the loved ones
Whose bodies we view,
For death should bring joy
to me and to you.

Weep not for that undone
Or what happened before,
For when this life is over
Then we can do no more.

Rather weep for the living
Whose journey is young,
For the mean and unforgiving,
Their journey a deed well done.

What God Hath Promised

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways, all our lives through,
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain, rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labour, light for the way.
Grace for the trials, Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

"When I Must Leave You" (1)

When I must leave you for a little while--
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years.
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
Live on and do all things the same.
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

“When I Must Leave You” (2)

When I must leave you for a little while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years.
But start out bravely with a valiant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
Live on and do all things the same.
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

Cry no tears for me this day, for I have gone home
To get my rest;
I have lovedyou all; I have done my best!
Now I must leave you to take my rest.
God loaned me to you for a little while.
Know that I am home with Jesus
I can now smile because I will meet you again someday
If you don’t forget to love as I loved
And pray as I prayed.

When I'm Gone

When I'm gone release me, let me go.
I have so many things to do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love so you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time, I travel alone.
So grieve for awhile for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by God's trust.
It's only for a little while that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on
So if you call me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me,
I'll be near and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile
and "Welcome You Home."
